Two people who live in one street in a Leicestershire neighbourhood have won a prize on the People’s Postcode Lottery.
The neighbours in Aspen Drive, Countesthorpe, yesterday each won £1,000 thanks to their postcode – LE8 5SA.
People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson sent his well-wishes to the winners.
He said: “Brilliant news for all of our winners today, congratulations! I hope you treat yourself with something nice.”
The People’s Postcode Lottery manages multiple society lotteries which are promoted by different charities and good causes.
A minimum of 32 per cent of ticket sales from the lottery goes straight to charities.
So far, lottery players have raised more than £600 million for good causes across Britain and beyond, said a spokesperson for the lottery.
Wednesday’s draw was promoted by WaterAid which has received over £15.9 million in funding from the players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
Many good causes close to the winners have also benefited from players’ support, and local charities can next apply for funding next year.
It costs £10 a month to play and winning postcodes are announced daily.
